Market Square is Swift Current’s lively summer market, featuring local artisans, food vendors, entertainment, a Farmers’ Market, and a family‑friendly atmosphere. It’s a weekly outdoor event held in the heart of downtown.

Market Square is located downtown at the corner of Chaplin Street East & Central Avenue North, extending along parts of 1st Avenue Northeast during the season.

📅 When does Market Square take place?

Every Saturday from June 20 to September 12, 2026, running 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

☔ Does Market Square run in all weather?

Yes! Market Square goes ahead rain, snow (it has happened!) or shine. We suggest you dress for the weather, in comfortable shoes for walking around the market. However, if the Summer Market Manager deems it unsafe for the event to continue due to dangerous weather, it will be delayed or closed.

🐾 Are pets allowed?

Yes — pets are welcome but must be leashed and behave comfortably with large crowds and noise.

Visitors can enjoy:

💲What should I bring?

• cash and cards – some vendors accept cash only. (ATMs available at several nearby banks)

• sunscreen, sunglasses and/or hats for the open-air atmosphere on hot days
• umbrellas or rain gear on rainy days

No — Market Square is free to attend.

🚗 Where can I park?

Visitors can find parking throughout the downtown area near Market Square, including the parking lot at City Hall. Barricades are placed to indicate no parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the event, and to designate loading/unloading areas.

📷 Is this event family‑friendly?

Absolutely! Market Square offers a welcoming environment for families, with activities and entertainment suitable for all ages. Please exercise extra caution if supervising young children as the event is adjacent to traffic. There is no smoking permitted on site during market hours.

🚽 Are there public washrooms on site?

There are portable toilets. Bring hand sanitizer or wipes especially if there are children in your group.
