How can I apply to be a vendor on the square?

Can I be placed under the “big white tent”?
The Swift Current & District Farmers’ Market operates under the big white tent, and while they work in partnership with us, the City does not manage this area – please directly contact the Farmers' Market Managerswiftcurrentfarmersmarket@gmail.com
Will tents be provided for vendors on the square?
Common area tents will still be supplied, but individual vendors must now provide their own tents for their assigned booth space.
Can I pick a specific spot on the square?
Stall locations are assigned by the Summer Market Square Manager, who will consider vendor needs when possible. Vendors may not loan, share, or sublease their stall under any circumstances.
What are the rules for booths or displays?
- All displays must fit within a 10' x 10' space.
- Over‑sized displays will be charged double fees.
- Vendors must supply their own tent, tables, chairs, and signage.
- All structures must be safely secured at all times
What can I sell on the square?
- Vendors may only sell, sample, or display items that have been approved through their Summer Market application and, where applicable, approved by Saskatchewan Health.
- Any additions or changes to inventory must be pre-approved by Summer Market organizers.
- Vendors are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable provincial licensing and food safety regulations.
- Proof of certification may be requested at any time by Summer Market organizers or regulatory officials.
What are the rules of conduct on site?
- Vendors and anyone working in the stall are expected to maintain a clean, professional appearance and conduct themselves respectfully at all times.
- Unprofessional behavior, harassment, insubordination, alcohol/drug use, or fighting may result in dismissal without refund.
- Failure to comply with market rules may result in warnings, suspension, or removal from the Summer Market.
- Smoking is not permitted during market hours (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM).
What time is set up and tear down?
Setup begins at 7:30 AM and must be completed before the market opens at 9:00 AM.
The Summer Market runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and vendors are expected to remain open for the full duration unless they have received prior authorization to leave early.
Where can we unload and/or park?
- Unload first, Upon arrival, vendors must turn off their vehicles (engines must not be left running) and fully unload their materials at their assigned booth space.
- Vehicles must then be moved and parked off-site before any booth setup begins.
- Approved parking areas include behind the Legion Hall or the City Hall parking lot.
- No on‑street parking on 1st Avenue (especially south of the barricade).
- No vehicles may enter the market area between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM after barricades are placed.
What about cleanup?
Vendors must keep their stall clean and remove all garbage — including sandbags — placing items in the designated bins at the end of each market day.
What if we get rained out?
The market operates rain or shine. In cases of extreme weather, vendors will be notified by the organizers regarding any delays or cancellations. Payments will not be refunded due to weather conditions.
