Seniors' Week

Post Date:10/22/2025 11:00 AM

For Immediate Release
October 22, 2025

SWIFT CURRENT, SK – The City of Swift Current Community Services Division is proud to announce the return of Seniors’ Week, running from November 3 – 7, 2025, in partnership with Pharmasave. This annual celebration recognizes the invaluable contributions of older adults in our community and offers a week of FREE activities for individuals aged 55 and older.

New this year, Seniors' Week will kick off with a Seniors’ Expo, on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, presented in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Taking place at the InnovationPlex Auditorium (2001 Chaplin St. E), the Expo invites seniors to:

  • Explore local community supports and programs for seniors
  • Listen to a special presentation by Age Friendly Saskatchewan, introducing the process of becoming an Age Friendly community and exploring what that could look like in Swift Current
  • Participate in a community feedback conversation to share what matters most to them

“This is a chance for seniors to connect, learn, and help shape the future of our community,” said Krista Caswell, Community Recreation Coordinator. “We’re excited to explore the Age Friendly initiative and hear directly from our seniors about their priorities and ideas.”

Throughout the week, seniors can take part in a variety of arts, culture, sports, and recreation programs, all designed to be fun and engaging with many of the activities continuing to be available year-round.

The Community Services Division also continues to offer the Seniors’ Source newsletter and calendar, a resource that highlights monthly recreational opportunities and shares important community updates.
