SWIFT CURRENT, SK – The City of Swift Current is pleased to announce that its fire training grounds, including training props and the Fire Hall, will be made available this weekend for use by the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association (SVFFA) in cooperation with the Swift Current Rural Municipality Fire Department.
Over the coming days, volunteer fire departments from across the province will gather in Swift Current for hands-on training and professional development. The sessions, hosted by the Swift Current RM Fire Department, will take place at the City’s designated training grounds, which include various props that have been purpose-built to simulate real-life emergency situations.
“We’re pleased to provide access to our training facilities to support the important work being done by volunteer firefighters from across the province,” said Chief Ryan Hunter, Swift Current Fire Department. “Training opportunities like this enhance overall emergency preparedness and contribute to stronger, safer communities.”
This weekend represents a broader commitment to emergency services excellence and continued investment in firefighter education. By offering its facilities for this event, the city supports the vital work of fire departments both locally and provincially.
Residents are advised that there may be an increased presence of emergency vehicles around the training grounds and Fire Hall during the weekend.
The City of Swift Current extends a warm welcome to all participating firefighters and thanks them for their continued dedication to protecting Saskatchewan communities.
