SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Swift Current Fire Department crews were dispatched to a structure fire on the 100 block of Central Avenue South at 2:19 PM on Saturday, March 22.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single car garage fully involved. Crews worked efficiently to gain control of the situation; the fire was quickly extinguished. Ventilation and salvage operations were then performed. One injury was reported as a result of the fire.
A total of three (3) vehicles responded to the incident, with ten (10) personnel on scene comprised of six (6) career firefighters and four (4) auxiliary members. Other agencies responding to the incident were the RCMP, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), SaskEnergy, and City Light & Power.
The cause is currently under investigation.
