SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Swift Current Fire Department crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 400 block of 9th Avenue Northeast at 1:16 PM on December 13, 2024.
Upon arrival, firefighters found dense smoke exhausting out of a basement window of a multi-residential building. On entry, the crew determined the fire to be located in one of the basement bedrooms. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and cleared the building of smoke. Light structural damages are reported. There were no life-threatening injuries resulting from the fire.
A total of three (3) vehicles responded to the incident, with seven (7) personnel on scene. Other agencies responding to the incident were the RCMP, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and City Light & Power.
The cause is currently under investigation.
