BS2Being Senior focuses entirely on the 65+ residents of our community and engages in information sharing about what works for them. The City formed a Being Senior Advisory Team with representatives of the Cypress Health Region, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, and Riverview Village Estates, to work together to develop a series of public meetings that would provide seniors with an opportunity to learn about programs and services in our community, and to share ideas and issues that could help make Swift Current a better place for us all.

Being Senior – Series 2
Our next series of Being Senior sessions will be focused on Home Care and the new Long Term Care facility that is opening in Swift Current this year. The sessions will be held in the Meeting Room at Pharmasave, located at 390 Central Avenue North, on Thursday, April 28th. These public sessions are available for seniors and their family members, free-of-charge. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.

The format of the approximately hour-long sessions is as follows:

  • Introduction
  • Presentation 1: Home Care
  • Small group discussions
  • Presentation 2: Long Term Care
  • Small group discussions
  • Wrap-up and refreshments
