Youth Programs

     - On the Move:  On the Move is a year round program for kids ages 10 to 15 years of age.  Girls' nights take place on Tuesday nights and boys' nights take place on Thursday nights.

Summer Programs

     - Parks Play Program:  The Parks Play Program is available for children between the ages of 5 and 12.

     - Hub on 6th Youth Centre:  The Hub on 6th Youth Centre is available for youth ages 10 and 17.

These summer programs run during the summer months of June to August.

How Much Does It Cost?

With children involved in all types of activities during the summer months, sometimes the overall cost of these activities can become expensive.

The best part about the Parks Play Program, the Hub On 6th and the On The Move programs is that they are FREE! These are drop-in programs, so your child is not obligated to be at each session of the program.

What Happens In Poor Weather?

If you get out of bed ready to face a beautiful, sunny summer day and… it’s not, then simply tune in to the Eagle 94.1 and listen to the Morning Show. Our friends at the Eagle will be announcing if the Parks Program is cancelled for the day. The Eagle will also announce information about alternate activities that are occurring in Swift Current, such as activities in the Swift Current Branch of the Chinook Regional Library, at the Swift Current Museum, at the Art Gallery/ National Exhibition Centre. Thankfully, the Recreation Centre is available for participants of the Youth Centre for days when the weather is less than ideal.

As for On The Move programs there is access to indoor gyms for fun and games in case of poor weather.

Chinook Parkway

This unique parkway winds throughout the city of Swift Current.  It
runs b
y the Swift Current creek and provides the opportunity for
rollerblading, biking, running, walking and more.

Low-Cost No-Cost Activity Brochure

This brochure provides activities that are available to keep your
family
active throughout the year at little or no cost.

The Recreation and Parks Department also provides numerous
