It is easy to become a member of the Swift Current Library and it's FREE! All you need to become a member is two pieces of identifications showing your current name and address!

Children up to 14 years of age require the signature of a parent/legal guardian to get a library card. Teenagers (14 - 18 years of age) with no identification can get a library card. A parent/legal guardian can accompany the teen and the library will issue a library card based on the parent's/legal guardian's identification.

Your Swift Current Branch Library Card can be used at any public library in Saskatchewan!

Important! If your address, telephone number, or name changes, please let us know so that we can update our records! Also, Report a lost or stolen card immediately. You are responsible for anything borrowed on the card until it is reported lost. The cost of replacing a card is $5.00.

 
  Fines
The Swift Current Branch does not charge overdue book fines. A $ 1.00 processing fee per item is charged on items not returned within 31 days after the due date.

Borrowers will be billed the replacement cost and the $1.00 processing fee for lost books.
 
Borrowing privileges will be suspended as soon as an outstanding account is shown on the circulation system.
 
A 10¢ per day fine applies to any overdue video, to a maximum of $ 2.00 per video. The loan period for videos is 7 days. For lost videos, borrowers will be billed the replacement cost and the $1.00 processing fee.
 
 
  Renewals
To avoid overdues, renewals can be requested in person, by telephone or online.
 
  Holds
To place a hold on an item that is out, or that does not belong to the Swift Current Branch just drop-in or phone us and we will try to get it for you! You can also place a hold online in the catalogue. It is an easy way to view the books that you want and order them.
 
 Interlibrary Loans
You may borrow books that are not in the Swift Current Branch Library through interlibrary loans. This means that Swift Current Branch will bring in requested materials from other regional, provincial, national or international libraries.

Interlibrary loans may be requested through the Swift Current Branch, by phoning the 24 Hour Chinook Regional Library Request Line (1-800-CRL-8844 or 773-5564 in Swift Current), or by email to Chinook Regional Library headquarters.
