This site gives information on each country's map, flag, economy, defence, geography, government, and people. In addition the site contains links to the current weather conditions for cities within each country and to the news and local information. Most of the information presented is from the World Factbook.

CIA World Factbook
This annual release from the CIA is an excellent resource for basic information about countries.

Country Studies (from the Library of Congress)
An online continuing series of books containing studies of 91 countries. Each study is written by a multidisciplinary team of social scientists. Most books in the series deal with a particular foreign country, describing and analyzing its political, economic, social, and national security systems and institutions.

Currency Converter
Contains the exchange rates for 164 different currencies. The site also has a Historical Currency Converter where you can view any exchange rates among the 164 currencies for any day since 1 January 1990 through to today. Currency News also available.
