Quick Questions and Answers

How does the service work?
Swift Transit travels on a scheduled, fixed route, picking up and dropping off customers at designated bus stops at key locations and near places like senior centres, shopping malls, major attractions and Cypress Regional Hospital. See Map below for a Bus Stop near you...

The “HUB” or Downtown Transfer Station is the point where the bus crosses through downtown and riders can either continue along the main route, or transfer to or from a shuttle bus, to reach their destination.

The shuttle service is designed for riders who are located outside of walking distance (approximately 450 metres, any direction) from a bus stop within the fixed route zone. This service will drop riders at the downtown HUB, where they can connect to the fixed service and carry on to their destination. If their destination lies outside of walking distance of the fixed route, the shuttle will drop them at their desired destination.

What if I’m located away from the main route?
The main bus route covers a zone down the middle of the city from north to south. Anyone located outside of walking distance (approximately 450 metres, any direction, from a bus stop) to this zone can connect to the main route by shuttle bus, or continue on the shuttle if their destination is outside the zone as well.

Call 306-770-2263 to arrange shuttle bus service.

Who operates the service?
A two-year partnership with the Saskatchewan Abilities Council was approved at the January 5, 2015 City Council meeting, with the Abilities Council operating both the Access Transit and public transit system.

This partnership provides opportunities for local adults and children with disabilities and enhance their independence and participation in the community.

Why choose the Saskatchewan Abilities Council as the operator of the service?
The Abilities Council successfully operates public transit services for other cities, such as Yorkton, and has been delivering Access Transit to our community for over 30 years.
