Household Hazardous Waste Days are held in the Spring and Fall - at the InnovationPlex southeast lower level parking lot.
The next Household Hazardous Waste Day will take place Wednesday, May 24th, from 1 PM - 7 PM.

We collect and recycle household hazardous waste materials from residents of Swift Current. This service is for residential items only - commercial or agricultural products are NOT accepted.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a business owner requiring hazardous waste material management, Secure Energy accepts and collects commercial (and household) materials year-round.

Household Hazardous Waste Guidelines:
Please ensure containers are labelled to determine their contents.
The following hazardous waste products are accepted:
Aerosols - hair spray, insect repellent, lubricant spray, furniture cleaner.
Automotive - used engine oil, used engine oil filters, antifreeze, batteries, carburetor cleaners, oil fuel, windshield cleaner.(Oil, antifreeze, filters and containers are accepted at Tune-A-Matic year round at no charge)
Batteries - automotive, cellphone batteries, dry-cell, NiCad, lithium, alkali, lead-acid. (City Recycle Depot also accepts household and automotive batteries year-round)
Cleaners - oven cleaner, glass cleaner, spot remover, disinfectants, car wax.
Corrosives - drain cleaner, engine degreaser, ammonia, battery acid, sulfuric acid.
Fuels - gasoline, diesel, kerosene, lamp oil, oil/gas mixture.
Fluorescent Light Bulbs - fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights (CFL's).
Oxidizers - chlorine, bleach, pool chemicals, fertilizers, hydrogen peroxide, septic tank chemicals.
Paint -also accepted at SARCAN year-round at no charge
Poisons - herbicides, lawn and garden chemicals, rodent poison, insecticides.
Propane Cylinders - barbeque cylinders, camp cylinders
Pharmaceuticals - Unused and expired prescription drugs. Accepted by most local pharmacies year-round.
Solvent - paint thinner, acetone, varsol, alcohol, benzene, xylene, naphtha
