PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Swift Current has a limited City Tel-a-Bus service that provides mass transit for the community. The service even allows you to telephone them and request to be picked up at your home! Please visit this link for more information including phone numbers and rates.
ACCESS TRANSIT:
The City of Swift Current partners with Saskatchewan Abilities Council to provide a para-transit (Access Transit) system to the residents of Swift Current with a wheelchair bus service on a telephone call basis. Wheelchair bound persons requiring transportation may call the Access Transit service operator at 773-2076 to make arrangements for transportation during regular operating hours. TAXIS:
There are three (3) taxi companies operating in Swift Current.
United Taxi (773-2084), City Wide Cab (773-8887) and Ricks Taxi (741-1154), each offer 24 hour service
AIR SERVICE:
There are 2 paved runways. Runway #03-21 = 2500 x 50' and Runway #12-30 = 4250 x 150'. The airport is 3 1/2 miles from McIntyre Industrial Park and 5 miles from downtown Swift Current.
Swift Current Airport of Swift current provides a Charter service, training, crop spraying, aircraft rentals and aviation fuel.
HIGHWAYS:
Swift Current is situated on the Trans Canada Highway and No. 4 Highway. The Trans Canada Highway runs west to the Alberta border (160km) and is four lane east to Regina (250km).
No. 4 highway runs north to points in Northern Saskatchewan and Alberta and south to the Montana (U.S.A.) border.
TRUCK TRANSPORT:
We are very well served by local and major trucking companies and through this, regular service is provided to all major points in Canada and the U.S.A. Twelve trucking firms are primary general merchandise carriers and there are 13 other motor carriers operating in and out of Swift Current. Some of these companies maintain warehousing and terminal facilities.
PASSENGER BUS SERVICE:
Swift Current is serviced by Greyhound Bus Lines, Saskatchewan Transportation Company and a charter bus service, Sun West Coach.
RAILWAYS:
We are situated on the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway thus providing service to major markets.
