At a Regular Council Meeting on March 20, 2023, Mr. Jim Jones, the interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Swift Current officially accepted the CAO role on a permanent basis. 

Mr. Jones had been appointed Interim Chief Administrative Officer on January 9, 2023, in accordance with the Cities Act, and began officially serving in the role on February 1, 2023. 

As the administrative head of the organization, the CAO oversees and ensures City operations are maintained and handled efficiently and effectively, while providing leadership to its employees. The CAO is accountable to City Council and leads the implementation of Council’s priorities.

Jim Jones joined the City of Swift Current in July 2019 as General Manager of Community Services. He had served twenty-five (25) years prior, in various roles pertaining to recreation, leadership, and municipal management throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. He has the full confidence of the Mayor and Council for the permanent appointment.
