Upcoming Summer Events for Youth in Swift Current

The City of Swift Current’s Community Services Division would like you to mark your calendars for a few upcoming youth events, with the excitement kicking off this month.

On June 13th, we will be hosting our annual Youth Fest for students in grades 5 to 9. We’re very fortunate to be partnering with the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative to put on this free event from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at The Center (55 1st Avenue Northeast). Participants can enjoy bounce houses, Henna, free hotdogs, and lots of cool games! By participating in this event, you can also win awesome prizes such as iRide passes, 57’s tickets, swim passes and much more!  Come out and have a great time!

On June 25th, we’re partnering with Swift Current Skateboarding Inc. to put on Skate Camp! Skate Camp is open to all ages and all abilities. This event takes place at the Kiwanis Skate Park located at Riverdene Park. Registration will begin at 5:00 PM and instruction time will be from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Participants get a free hot dog and free instruction from experienced skateboarding instructors. Bring your own skateboard and helmet. Don’t miss this awesome event, as there will even be a chance to win a prize! In case of poor weather, the event will be moved to the Colonel Clifton Centre located at 350 6th Avenue Northeast.

Lastly, on June 26th, the annual Kiddies Day Parade will take place at 4:00 PM at Memorial Park. Participants must be there by 3:30 PM to be judged in their category. All participants will have the opportunity to get a free hot dog provided by the ACT & Shrine Clubs and free ice cream provided by the City of Swift Current. Dress up, come out, and have a great time!

The best thing about these awesome, summer events? They’re free, fun, and open to everyone!
