New Taxation Software will bring minor changes to tax payment process

The City of Swift Current’s Taxation Department wishes to advise customers that it has completed the process of upgrading to a new software system. With the implementation of the new taxation software now in place, we would like customers to be aware of a few minor changes to the taxation process.

New Tax Notices
Taxes for 2019 have now been levied and printed on new and improved Tax Statements, which will be mailed out during the week of May 27, 2019. Ratepayers should note that the due date for payment on taxation accounts will be June 28th, 2019.

Payments via Mortgage Company
If you have a Mortgage Company/Financial Institution that normally makes tax payments on your behalf, they will be notified of the balance due and continue to submit payment on your behalf.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan (PAP)
If you have a Pre-Authorized Payment Plan set up with the City, nothing will change. Your total tax amount will be indicated on your Tax Statement and your new monthly payment amounts will also be indicated at the bottom of your Statement.

Online Payments
If you are making Online Payments, you will need to use the Taxation Account Number on the front of your Tax Statement. Prior to making any new payments, please change from your old number to your Taxation Account Number through your online banking account or by calling your Financial Institution to assist you with this change.

The City of Swift Current Taxation Department would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to this new system. If you are experiencing any difficulties or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Taxation Department at 306.778.2703 or 306.778.2704.
